Travelling eastwards along the motorway, we reach Larnaca town.
First visit at the cathedral church of St. Lazarus built in about 900 A.D. and over the
tomb of the Saint where his relics were discovered and are still preserved. Break for
coffee and time to visit Palm Trees Promenade. After passing through the Dhekella British
Base or along the Dividing Line, we reach the "Red Village"s, the main potato
production center, a short stop is given for a view of Farnagusta, at present under
Turkish Occupation. Via Paralimni village the tour proceeds to Ayia Napa which has
recently been transformed from a small fishing village into a major tourist center. After
exploring the interesting medieval monastery with its octagonal fountain in the courtyard
and the gigantic sycamore tree. Ample time is given for lunch at a seaside restaurant by
the fishing harbor. Weather permitting, you can enjoy sunbathing on the sandy beaches and
swimming in the crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean.
